Great Western
Futurity
The purpose of
the Great Western Futurity is to reward Great Westerm members for breeding to
Great Western owned stallions and to promote the stallions owned by Great
Western members.
Stallions:
Only stallions owned by
current Great Western members that are also members in good standing with
PFHA are eligible to be nominated to the Futurity.
Nomination Fees:
$1,000 for lifetime
nomination
or
Donation of breeding
for four consecutive years for lifetime nomination. Each year’s donation
must be prepaid ($250) by the start of the Mile High Classic (MHC) with
prepayment refunded when breeding is sold.
Stallion Service Auction:
Breedings donated by
stallion owner will be offered by written silent auction. Auction will
close on Sunday afternoon of MHC for breedings to take place the following
year. Minimum bid is $250.00. Breedings not sold will be offered for $350
to the first paid bid.
Stallion owner receives
1 free nomination each year a breeding is donated which may be used for any
offspring of said stallion, regardless of owner of offspring. This is free
and offspring will not pay the usual nomination fee.
Offspring:
Only fillies, colts, and
geldings owned by current Great Western members and sired by nominated Great
Western stallions are eligible to participate in Futurity.
Futurity Classes will be
held each year at the Mile High Classic:
To be eligible, the
horse’s nomination fee needs to be paid (this fee is waived for stallion
owner’s nomination or breeding bought at auction) and a $10.00 declaration
fee must be paid to the Futurity, declaring in which class the horse will
compete. These fees must be paid on or before June 15 of the year of
competition. A horse may be nominated at the MHC with payment of $50 late
nomination fee. A horse is only eligible to compete in one class of each
eligible year. The following classes will be offered:

11. Pleasure Schooling Open (3 & 4 Yr Olds)
12. Five Yr Old Pleasure Geldings

Division of Prize Money: The
top four placing horses will receive:
Yearling and Two Yr Old Bella
Forma classes:
First - $200.00, Second - $150.00, Third - $100.00, Fourth - $50.00
Open
Schooling (Three and Four Yr Old) classes:
First -
$250.00, Second - $200.00, Third - $150.00, Fourth - $100.00
Five
Yr Old Gelding classes:
First -
$300.00, Second - $250.00, Third - $200.00, Fourth - $150.00
Stallion will receive 10% of the amount of prize money that has been awarded
to his offspring.
If
there are less than four eligible horses in the class, the unpaid prize
monies will remain in the Futurity.

All applications must include a copy of the PFHA registration
papers.

Service Central website. A minimum 10% booking fee is required from
breeder upon signed
breeding contract and will be applied toward the stallion of
choice breeding fee. All booking fees are payable directly to the
