Breeder’s Futurity
What is a Futurity? It may have other meanings but in the horse industry, a futurity is a show where offspring of certain stallions have been nominated and entered to compete for prize money. The prize money comes from the nomination fees paid by the stallion owners and by the offspring owners.
2004 was the inaugural year for
the Mason Dixon Breeder’s Futurity at the Lexington, VA show. The following
stallions have been nominated to the Futurity. This year the futurity classes
will be the Bella Forma classes for one year old fillies, colts and geldings,
two year old fillies, colts and geldings, three year old fillies, colts and
geldings, four year old fino, performance and pleasure schooling fillies, colts
and geldings and 5 year old fino, performance and pleasure geldings.
