Founded in 1992, the Piedmont Breeders' Futurity includes over 60 of the finest aand most famous stallions in the breed. The Futurity has become a showcase for the offspring of the most valuable breeding stock in the Paso Fino industry. Over $175,000 has been awarded since the first classes were held in 1993. The Futurity is held in conjunction with the Piedmont Classic Horse Show each June in Asheville, NC.

Entry and Nomination Info
Entry or nomination into the Futurity is open to any Paso Fino Horse Association member and to any registered Paso Fino that is sired by one of the futurity-nominated stallions. 2007 Futurity classes include: Yearling Conformation (Fillies, Colts & Geldings), Four Year Old Schooling Classes (Fillies, Colts & Geldings) & Geldings (5 year olds) – Pleasure, Performance and Fino.

Once a horse is nominated into the futurity program, it can show in its appropriate classes with payment of a small declaration fee. Nominations must be received by June 11th, 2007 in order to show in that year, but stallions and offspring can be nominated any time and need only to be nominated once. The Futurity current fees are:

OFFSPRING NOMINATIONS:
(Must be sired by Piedmont Futurity Stallions)

2002 Four Year Old Fillies, Colts & Geldings $450

Any offspring from a nominated stallion is eligible to enter the Futurity Classes and, once nominated, each horse can show until its eligibility is finished. Futurity classes are shown at Asheville, along with regular show classes during the Saturday/Sunday show.
